Memorial service set for UH’s Wilson
The University of Hawaii football program is hosting a “celebration of life” ceremony for Jack Willis Wilson III on Monday in the Stan Sheriff Center.
The service begins at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
Wilson — known as Willis Wilson to the public and “Willy Will” or “Cudi Man” to friends and teammates — died this early Saturday of an apparent drowning near Sandy Beach.
Wilson, a walk-on running back, was 21. He was born in Pearl City, and raised in Washington state. His father, Jack Wilson, is a former UH football player.
Rainbow Warrior players and running back coach Chris Wiesehan are among the scheduled speakers.
