Wahine basketball team falls short at Oregon State
Kamilah Jackson put together her seventh straight double-double, but the senior forward’s 22 points and 11 rebounds were not enough as the Hawaii women’s basketball team fell at Oregon State 76-64 tonight.
UH (5-4) dropped to 1-2 against Pac-12 competition this season, including 0-2 on the road.
The Rainbow Wahine were within four points at halftime, 36-32, but were outplayed steadily after the break.
Jackson’s double-double was the 50th of her career. She also passed Lynette Liu for fourth on the UH career scoring list at 1,365 points. Liu had 1,363.
Senior guard Sydney Haydel added 11 points, three assists and two steals and senior wing Shawna Kuehu had nine points and two blocks in the loss.
The Wahine continue play at former Big West Conference foe Pacific (4-3) at 11 a.m. Hawaii time on Sunday. Pacific is now of the West Coast Conference.
