Police find stolen rental car being driven in Waianae

A rental car reported stolen nearly two weeks ago turned up in Waianae on Monday, police said. 

Police arrested a 38-year-old Kapolei man just after 7 a.m. on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle, according to police records. His two passengers, a 32-year-old Waianae man and a 36-year-old homeless man, were arrested on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. 

A patrol officer spotted the rental car fronting 87-110 Nanaikeola St. in Waianae and stopped the driver for an alleged traffic violation, police said. 

A 27-year old man reported the vehicle stolen on Dec. 18.
