Rain clouds that moved over Oahu Sunday night moved northeast away from the islands.

Skies should be mostly sunny over Oahu this morning as a weather system that brought heavy showers to parts of Oahu and Hawaii island weakens and moves away from the islands to the northeast.

But southerly Kona winds will continue to bring muggy and hazy conditions to most islands.

There’s also a chance of afternoon showers, and possibly thunderstorms, in leeward and interior sections because of the light winds and daytime heating.

The weather will remain muggy and voggy until Thursday night, when gentle trade winds are forecast to return.

But the weekend may see light winds and humid conditions return.

A flood advisory for Oahu expired Sunday night after an evening of heavy rain near Makakilo

Other areas affected were Waikele, Kunia, Waipio, Waipahu, Waianae, Waialua, Wahiawa, Schofield Barracks, Nanakuli, Mokuleia, Mililani Town, Makaha, Makaha Valley, Maili and  Haleiwa.
