Hawaii sweeps CSU Northridge in volleyball a second time
Sophomore hitter Siki Zarkovic put down 10 kills and No. 11 Hawaii completed its second road trip with a second straight Mountain Pacific Sports Federation volleyball victory, sweeping No. 13 Cal State Northridge 25-22, 25-19, 25-21 Saturday afternoon in Northridge, Calif.
The Rainbow Warriors (7-4, 5-3) got seven kills each from junior opposite Brook Sedore and junior middle Taylor Averill, and six from senior hitter Jace Olsen. Sedore had both of the team’s aces and Averill was in on five of the team’s eight blocks.
The Matadors (3-6, 3-5) were led by Andrew Freiha’s 12 kills.
Hawaii returns home to host Cal Baptist Wednesday and Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center. Both matches have a 7 p.m. start.
