Hawaii sweeps Pacific in volleyball
Senior hitter Johann Timmer put down a career-high 15 kills and junior middle Taylor Averill added 12 with just one error as No. 11 Hawaii swept Pacific 25-22, 25-21, 25-15 on Tuesday night in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation volleyball match n Stockton, Calif.
It was the final meeting between the two schools as UOP will drop its program after this season.
The Rainbow Warriors (13-10, 11-9 MPSF) won their fourth road match of the season, one more than they did in all of last season when going 3-10. Hawaii had seven aces and just six service errors, and outblocked the Tigers 8.5-6.in 82 minutes at the Spanos Center.
Junior opposite Brook Sedore had eight kills before leaving midway through Set 2 with an apparent ankle sprain. He did not return.
“Definitely an ankle but it didn’t appear too serious,” Hawaii coach Charlie Wade said of Sedore. “He’ll have some time to rest and get ready for our next matches with BYU (April 4 and 5).”
Hawaii used 13 of the 14 on its travel roster. Sophomore Siki Zarkovic, who had started all previous 22 matches, did not play.

Pacific (2-19, 1-17) was led by Tommy Carmody’s nine kills.
