Man wanted in Texas child sex assault arrested in Kapolei
A man on the run for three years in connection with the sexual assault of a 9-year-old child in Texas was arrested Thursday by federal and state agents in Kapolei, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a news release.
Adrian Gamble, 42, of Galveston, Texas, was taken into custody at a Komohana Street home about 10:30 a.m.
According to the release, Gamble engaged in sexual contact with a 9-year-old child who was under his care on Sept. 20, 2008.
The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Gamble for indecency with a child and sexual contact in March 2011, but Gamble had already left the state at the time.
In December 2013, deputy U.S. marshals in Texas tracked Gamble to Honolulu and reached out to deputy Marshals in the islands. State deputy sheriffs, deputy marshalls, and agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement found Gamble Thursday after conducting surveillance and following up on leads.
He was taken to the Honolulu police department’s headquarters to await a court appearance and an extradition hearing to go back to Texas.
