Colantono’s walk-off double stuns Hawaii
William Colantono hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Cal State Northridge a 2-1 victory over Hawaii on Friday afternoon at Matador Field in Northridge, Calif.
Colantono doubled off UH reliever Quintin Torres-Costa (2-1) to score pinch-runner Nico Garbella after Cal State Northridge drew a leadoff walk in the ninth.
Hawaii (14-21, 2-9) dropped its eight straight game to remain in last place in the Big West.
Cal State Northridge starter Jerry Keel stuck out a career-high 10 in 8 2/3 innings. He retired 18 in a row at one point and gave up just three hits.
Anthony Cortez (2-0) recorded the final out in the ninth, getting Matt Miller to fly out to right with the go-ahead run on third base.
Hawaii starter Scott Kuzminsky allowed one run on six hits in 6 1/3 innings. Torres-Costa worked two innings, allowing two hits and three walks with two strikeouts.

The Matadors are now 15-23 overall and 4-7 in conference play.
Kaeo Aliviado, Marc Flores and Jordan Richartz had the only hits for UH. Aliviado has now reached base in 19 straight games.
