3 men cited under anti-cockfighting law

Honolulu police arrested three men for alleged violations of cockfighting laws along Waianae Valley Road late Saturday morning.

Three men were cited under a law related to prohibited gaffs or slashers at 11:51 a.m.

A gaff is the kind of knife tied to the leg of a rooster that’s used to injure its opponent in a cockfight.

Officers cited a 52-year-old Waipahu man, a 38-year-old Kapolei man and 42-year-old Ewa Beach man.

The men were released after posting $1,000, $100, and $200 in bail respectively.
