Honolulu firefighters rescued hikers from three popular trails on Oahu in separate incidents Sunday morning.

A 31-year-old woman fell at the beginning of the Waimano Trail and injured her hip at about 7:45 a.m. She had only been on the trail for about seven minutes and firefighters were able to walk in and take her out on C-spine board, said Fire Department spokesman Kevin Mokulehua.

There was no immediate word on her condition.

At 8:11 a.m., firefighters responded to a medical emergency at the top of Diamond Head. The Fire Department helicopter airlifted rescue personnel to the top of the mountain. 

The helicopter took a man to a landing zone, where an ambulance was waiting.

No other information on the man or his condition was immediately available.

A few minutes later, at 8:19 a.m., firefighters responded after an 18-year-old woman started feeling sick about three-quarters of the way to the top of the Koko Head trail.

A nurse, who happened to be hiking on the trail, tended to the woman until firefighters arrived, Mokulehua said.

Because the helicopter was involved in the Diamond Head rescue, firefighters hiked up the trail and reached the woman at about 8:43 a.m.

The woman started feeling better, but the Fire Department helicopter, which had finished the Diamond Head rescue, was used to take the woman down from the trail to a waiting ambulance at 9:02 a.m., Mokulehua said.
