COURTESY GUY MATSUMOTO
The Matsumoto family of Mililani found a sidewalk vendor selling Hawaii-style shave ice during a recent visit to Montreux, Switzerland. Guy Matsumoto snapped a photo of daughter Kelsi to record the moment. Also along for the trip, which included a stop in Paris, were mom Nadine and second daughter Staci. Nadine Matsumoto said the family didn’t taste-test the island treat, “but I’m sure it does not compare to Hawaii’s shave ice.”
