Honolulu police have found the stolen disaster pick up truck destroyed in a former Kunia cane field, the Hawaii Red Cross said Saturday.

The white 2000 Nissan Frontier was reported stolen early Thursday morning from the Hawaii Red Cross Headquarters at 4155 Diamond Head Road.

This is the second time a Red Cross vehicle has been stolen.

On Aug. 6, the organization’s only Big Island disaster truck was stolen from the Red Cross office in Hilo as authorities were preparing for Tropical Storm Iselle’s imminent arrival.

The truck was found a day later in Papaikou with silver spray paint over the Ford F-150’s Red Cross logos. It was operational and workers were able to use it to deliver supplies and conduct assessments after Tropical Storm Iselle made landfall over Puna.
