Police identified the 60-year-old woman who died after she was struck by two vehicles in Lihue as Paulanna Larish.

Larish had no known address at the time of her death but lived in the Lihue area.

Police are continuing to search for the second driver involved in the collision that occurred Tuesday.

At about 6:15 a.m., a dark gray Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on Rice Street toward Kuhio Highway when it struck Larish as she was walking in a marked crosswalk from the Lihue Post Office toward the Lihue Civic Center.

The driver stopped to render aid when a second vehicle traveling westbound on the outside lane of Rice Street struck Larish. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the second vehicle continued without stopping. The vehicle is described as a full-sized, dark-colored sport utility vehicle.

Anyone with information on the collision is asked to call officer Himongala of the Kauai Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section at 241-1617.
