Visits to Punahele, Komohana, and Waianuenue at the Hawaii Correctional Facility on the Big Island have been canceled but the Hale Nani unit will be accepting visitors, the state Department of Public Safety said Saturday morning.

Visits have been rescheduled for Sunday.

The Department of Public Safety (PSD) has started putting out visitation cancellation notices through social media in an effort to get the word out faster to people who are planning to come to the facility to visit a loved one between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on the scheduled visitation day.

To find out more about visitation schedules for each facility go to our website at dps.hawaii.gov.
