A pilot shuttle service will be launched on Kauai’s north shore Wednesday to alleviate traffic and parking congestion.

The North Shore Shuttle Pilot Project is a partnership between public and private agencies that include the county, resorts and Experience Kauai, a company that currently provides shuttle service in Princeville.

A $75,000 grant from the county will cover operational costs for the first three months of the six-month pilot project. Another $75,000 from the Princeville Development Reignwood Group will cover costs for the following three months.
