Bed Bath & Beyond opened Tuesday at Ward Centers. The two-level store anchors Ward Centre — one of Ward Centers’ five shopping complexes — in the Diamond Head wing. The company planned to hire 80 workers to staff its second Hawaii store in the space formerly occupied by Borders Books & Music.

A majority of Ward Entertainment Center shops and restaurants and the Ward Theatres were without power for about five hours Thursday.

A Hawaiian Electric Co. spokesman confirmed the power went out about 2:30 p.m. at the Ward Theatres complex and crews are working to repair a transformer. Another spokesman reported that power was restored about 7:30 p.m.

Consolidated Theatres said it has rescheduled screening of “Dial M for Murder” in 3D to Friday at 7 p.m. The company will honor all tickets purchased in advance for Thursday night’s show.
