Breezy and gusty tradewinds should peak Wednesday and weaken slightly Thursday and Friday, National Weather Service forecasters said.

Northeast trade winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts to 45 mph are expected Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday should bring a gradual decline in the winds and an increase in windward showers Thursday night. Winds will remain breezy at 10 to 20 mph.

By Sunday, winds may shift to the south, bringing humid conditions as a front approaches the state, bringing rains Sunday night and Monday.

The forecast for Honolulu and south shores of Oahu calls for breezy conditions through Friday.

The weekend weather should be partly to mostly sunny during the day, but rainy weather is expected starting late Sunday night.
