A 50-year-old Hauula man accused of sexually assaulting a child in Arizona more than two decades ago is in police custody awaiting an extradition hearing.

Ronnie Chisholm was wanted for investigation of two counts of sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of molestation of a child. All counts are classified as dangerous crimes against children, a U.S. Marshals news release said.

Chisholm is accused of engaging in various sexual acts and sexual molestation with a 6-year-old child between September 1988 and September 1999, the release said. Chisholm was in a relationship with the victim’s mother while living in Maricopa County, Ariz.

A Maricopa County grand jury indicted Chisholm in January 2000, but Chishom had already left Arizona and was living in Hawaii.

Based on the grand jury indictment, an arrest warrant for Chisholm was issued on Nov. 13.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force and FBI agents found Chisholm at his Kaipapau Loop home at 5:45 p.m. Monday.

Chisholm was booked by Honolulu police pending  a hearing for extradition back to Arizona.
