Maui man dies after being found floating face down at Hookipa Beach
A Maui man died Thursday after lifeguards pulled him from the water at Hookipa Beach Park, Maui police said.
Lifeguards found the 53-year-old man floating face down in water about 11:15 a.m. and tried to revive him on the beach. He died at the hospital.
Police were trying to notify family members before releasing the man’s name.
CORRECTION: The man who died is 53 years old. An earlier version of this story said he was 63.
