Pahoa man charged with trying to burn down parents’ home
Hawaii County police have charged a 25-year-old Pahoa man accused of trying to burn down his parents’ home during a domestic dispute on Monday.
According to police, Anthony-James Murray damaged the couple’s vehicle, broke a pair of windows at their Hawaiian Beaches residence and set fire to their living room carpet. The parents were able to extinguish the fire.
Murray fled but was located by police a short distance away and arrested. He was charged Wednesday with abuse, second-degree criminal property damage and third-degree arson. His aggregate bail was set at $5,000.
