Moped driver injured after hit by car in Makawao
A moped rider sustained life-threatening injuries Sunday after he was hit by a pickup in Makawao, Maui police said.
The rider, a 36-year-old Makawao man, was struck by a Toyota pickup traveling south on Olinda Road near Kehau Place about 1:09 a.m., police said.
The moped rider was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center. The pickup driver was not hurt.
