Witness catches beach purse theft suspect
A good Samaritan caught and held a 17-year-old boy for police after the suspect allegedly took a purse from a beach in Waimanalo Sunday afternoon.
Police said a witness caught the suspect going through a purse which was taken from the beach, at about 2:30 p.m.
Officers arrested the boy on suspicion of first-degree theft. He was released pending further investigation.
