Shark-sighting at La’aloa Beach Park in Kailua-Kona
Authorities have closed La’aloa Beach Park in Kailua-Kona on the Hawaii island because of a shark-sighting.
The beach was closed at about 1:30 p.m. and will likely remain closed until at least 5 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Police said a 12-foot-long tiger shark was spotted in waters about 20 feet from the shoreline.
