Outage cuts power to most of Lanai
Power has been restored to Lanai, which suffered a outage that cut electricity to most of the island Thursday morning.
The outage began at about 3:18 a.m. when a generator tripped offline, affecting 1,717 customers, according to a news release from Maui Electric Co.
Power was restored to some areas at about 3:45 a.m. and fully restored to all affected customers by 6 a.m.
The cause of the generator malfunction is under investigation.
