Police looking for driver who hit pedestrians near Sandy Beach

Police are asking for help identifying the driver of a pickup truck who last week hit two pedestrians near Sandy Beach.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department said the driver was in a light-colored pickup truck, and that the incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 6:20 p.m., when witnesses reported the driver of the pickup was speeding when sttempting to leave Sandy Beach but was unable to maneuver a right turn and collided into two pedestrians on the shoulder area of Kalanianaole Highway near Kealahou Street.

Police said the driver did not stop and fled toward Waimanalo. One of the pedestrians remains in the hospital with multiple fractures.
