High surf advisory issued for most islands
The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for north- and west-facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai, and for north-facing shores of Maui until 6 p.m. Saturday.
North-facing shores can expect 12- to 16-foot waves, while west-facing shores can expect surf up to 8 to 12 feet, according to weather officials.
Beachgoers are advised to expect strong breaking waves and strong currents that could make swimming dangerous.
