National Park Service to waive entrance fees on certain days

The National Park Service will waive the entrance fee to Haleakala National Park to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday.

In addition, the National Park Service will waive entrance fees on eight other days in 2015: Feb. 14 to 16 (Presidents’ Day weekend); April 18 and 19 (opening weekend of National Park week); Aug. 25 (the National Park Service’s 99th birthday); Sept. 26 (National Public Lands Day); and Nov. 11 (Veterans Day).

A variety of park passes are available for purchase online and in parks. There are also passes that provide free admission for active duty military and for people with permanent disabilities. More information on these passes can be found at www.nps.gov/findapark/passes.htm.
