The University of Hawaii Department of Public Safety reported a burglary between midnight Monday and 7:24 a.m. Tuesday.

The break-in occurred at Kuykendall Hall offices on the fifth floor.

A computer was taken from one office, and the burglar tried to enter other offices on the fifth floor, a faculty member said in an e-mail.

The burglar apparently gained entry by climbing on mailboxes outside office doors, and likely using a trash can from the fifth floor restroom, the faculty member said.
