Toddler struck by vehicle on Molokai sustains life-threatening injuries

A 2-year-old boy sustained life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle Monday morning in Waialua, Molokai, according to a news release issued by Maui County police.

A preliminary investigation found that the collision occurred at about 11:20 a.m. when the vehicle, traveling southbound on private property in the area of milepost No. 19 along Kamehameha Highway, hit the toddler.

The victim was flown to the Maui Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room. The motorist, a 67-year-old Waialua woman, did not report any injury.
