Kauai firefighters respond to three brushfires
Kauai firefighters responded to three separate brushfires over the past 24 hours, officials said.
The first fire was reported in a field in Anahola just after 7 a.m. Friday and was extinguished around 11:30 a.m.
Around 2:09 p.m., another fire was reported at a remote location in Anahola and burned about a half acre. It was extinguished approximately three hours later.
At 12:30 a.m. Saturday, a brush fire was reported on a hillside on the mauka side of Kuhio Highway near the Lumahai Beach lookout in Haena. Firefighters extinguished the blaze around 2 a.m.
The cause of the fires have not been determined.
