Pedestrian critically injured crossing Farrington Highway

A car hit a 58-year-old man crossing Farrington Highway in a marked crosswalk Monday night, leaving the man with critical injuries.

The accident happened at the Maiuu Road intersection near the Makaha Surfside condominum, police said.

A 2007 Chevrolet sedan, heading west and driven by a 52-year-old woman, hit the man at about 6:08 p.m., police said.

It’s not known if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, poilce said.
