Hawaii's Eric Ramirez connected for an RBI single in the second inning against Oregon at Les Murakami Stadium on Sunday.

No. 16 Oregon rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth inning after a questionable call at the plate to steal a 3-2 win over Hawaii on Monday afternoon at Les Murakami Stadium.

Oregon trailed 2-0 with one out in the ninth and runners on second and third when pinch-hitter J.B. Bryant hit a comebacker to the mound that was fielded cleanly by reliever Josh Pigg. Phil Craig-St. Louis was caught in a rundown between third and home and looked to be tagged out standing as he neared the plate, but umpire Jeff Henrichs called him safe.

Pigg and Hawaii coach Mike Trapasso both argued profusely but the call was upheld. Tim Susnara followed with a pinch-hit single through the right side of the infield to tie the game and Mitchell Tolman hit the go-ahead single to give Oregon (3-1) its first lead of the game.

Hawaii (1-3) had the tying run on third with one out in the ninth after a walk, a sacrifice bunt and a passed ball. Oregon closer Garrett Cleavinger got pinch-hitter Jonathan Weeks to foul out to first and then Matt LoCoco popped out to second to end it.

Alan Baldwin had a two-out RBI single in the second and Eric Ramirez singled home Alex Sawelson in the sixth off Jack Karraker.

Sawelson was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Hawaii has one day off before starting a five-game home series against Hofstra on Wednesday.
