Prosecutors charged a 27-year-old homeless man Wednesday for the alleged assault of a police officer near  the Keeaumoku street Walmart store.

An officer stopped Isaac Villegas Tuesday to serve him with an outstanding court warrant, when the suspect fled and injured the officer, police said.

Officers allegedly found drugs on Villegas when they arrested him

Villegas was in custody on $46,000 bail on charges of resisting arrest, first-degree assault on a police officer and drug possession.
