A 2-year-old boy was released from the hospital Thursday after falling from a moped in Ewa Beach.

The father of the toddler said that he had just returned from the grocery store at 3:25 p.m. and was sitting on his moped in his yard when his son jumped on the moped to join him.

The moped lunged forward and the toddler fell.

The father said that as precaution an ambulance was called to his home on Kilaha Street and the toddler was taken to the emergency room for a check.

The toddler suffered a small scratch to his head and was released.

An initial report from Emergency Medical Services said the boy was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
