Hawaii rallies past Texas in exhibition volleyball


Junior hitter Tai Manu-Olevao put down 19 kills and freshman libero Savannah Kahakai served for the final seven points as Hawaii defeated Texas 15-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-23 in an exhibition volleyball match Thursday night at the Stan Sheriff Center. 

Freshman Kalei Greeley added 12 kills and Kahakai had 25 digs for the Rainbow Wahine. 

Amy Neal and Paulina Prieto Cerame each had 12 kills for the Longhorns. Libero Kat Brooks, a Punahou product, had 23 digs for Texas.

Hawaii trailed 20-15, 22-16 and 23-17 late in the fourth but rallied behind Kahakai’s serves.
