Hawaiian Airlines raked in a company-record $76.1 million in baggage fees in 2014 as the state’s largest carrier transported a record 10.2 million passengers.

Most of the baggage fees came from the carrier’s domestic routes since it doesn’t charge for the first and second checked bags on its international service.

In 2013, Hawaiian took in $70 million in baggage fees.

For the fourth quarter, Hawaiian’s baggage fees were $18.9 million, up 14.1 percent from $16.6 million in the year-earlier period.

Island Air received $4 million from baggage fees compared with $3.2 million in 2013.

For the fourth quarter, Island Air’s baggage fees totaled $935,000, up 11.3 percent from $840,000 in the year-ago period.
