Houston based-Par Petroleum Corp., the owner of the former Hawaii Tesoro refinery and gas stations, said Monday that Walter Dods has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.

Dods will join the board following the company’s annual stockholder meeting on June 3. 

Par Petroleum Chairman Melvyn Klein said, “We are very pleased to welcome Walter Dods to our board. His business successes and reputation are exceptional.” 

Dods currently serves as chairman of Matson Inc. He previously served as chairman and CEO of First Hawaiian Bank.  Dods also served on the boards of Kokooha Investments Inc. and its subsidiary Mid Pac Petroleum LLC. Mid Pac was purchased by Par Petroleum in June.
