Maui firefighters responded to a brush fire Saturday near Lahainaluna High School that had burned about three acres.

Maui Fire Department got the call at 4:37 p.m. and found a half acre of light brush on fire near the high school.

Crews worked to contain the blaze, but it continued to burn three acres between the high school and Princess Nahienaena Elementary School, the Fire Department said.

MFD’s Air 1 helicopter and crews from Napili, Kahului, Wailea and Wailuku assisted Lahaina firefighters.
