2 Laumaka work furlough inmates missing from headcount

Laumaka work furlough inmates Michael Salas (left) and George Goings (right) were reported missing from an overnight headcount on Saturday.

Two Laumaka Work Furlough Center inmates were reported missing from a 1:45 a.m. headcount Saturday morning, the Department of Public Safety said.

Inmates George Goings and Michael Salas were both community custody inmates in the work furlough program. Community custody is the lowest classification status, the department said.

Goings, 43, was serving time for various drug charges and possession of a prohibited firearm. His next parole consideration hearing is scheduled for September.

Goings is described a 5 feet 9 inches tall, 207 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Salas, 26, was serving time for second-degree robbery. His next parole consideration hearing is scheduled for September also.

Salas is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and 135 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
