Plates of ahi poke and grilled vegetable lasagna are lined up on a cart ready to be offered to customers during Ala "Cart" Night at Vino in Waterfront Plaza.

Vino Italian Tapas and Wine Bar will reopen at Waterfront Plaza around September 1.

The new restaurant will be located in space 6F, kitty-corner and “across the breezeway” from the old location, according to the publicist for DK Restaurant Group.

Executive chef Keith Endo will helm the new restaurant, bringing back customers’ favorites and introducing new dishes.

Ann Taketa will continue in her position as general manager, Cheryle Furuya will be the private dining coordinator overseeing a private dining room that seats approximately 36 people, and master sommelier Chuck Furuya will continue to serve restaurant guests with wine recommendations.

The restaurant closed May 21, along with sister-restaurant Hiroshi Eurasion Tapas. Work crews are currently enclosing the storefronts with plyboard, while no announcement has been made about any new tenant secured for the space.
