The high temperature in Hilo Sunday tied the record for the date.

The high was 87 degrees, tying the record set in 1968, the National Weather Service said.

A new record high was recorded in Hilo on Saturday.

It was 88 degrees in Hilo, which broke the previous record of 87 for that date, set in 1995.

On Friday, the high temperature in Hilo was 87, tying the record set in 1974, the weather service said.
