A 45-year-old man assaulted a city bus driver Saturday after becoming upset about missing his stop in Kunia, police said.

The man approached the driver after missing his stop about 6:15 p.m. and began yelling at the driver while the bus was in motion, police said.

When the driver stopped the bus, the suspect assaulted the 49-year-old man, police said.

The suspect, a Kunia man, was arrested at the intersection of Kupuna Loop and Kupuohi Street for investigation of interference with the operator of a public transit vehicle, a class C felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.

The man remained in custody Sunday awaiting charges.
