    Yellow police tape blocked off a sidewalk on Nimitz Highway in Chinatown where a stabbing happened early Wednesday morning.

Police have opened an attempted murder investigation after a man stabbed another man early Wednesday in Chinatown.

Police said the incident occurred at 1:40 a.m. on Nimitz Highway near Maunakea Street.

Emergency Medical Services reports that paramedics treated a 39-year-old man for stab wounds to the chest and back and took him to the hospital in serious condition.
