Hiker calls for help from Koko Head trail
An early morning hiker on the Koko Head trail twisted his ankle and called for help using his cell phone Friday morning.
The Honolulu Fire Department said it got the distress call from the man at 7:30 a.m. who also said he was suffering from heat exhaustion.
Rescue personnel planned to airlift the hiker using the fire department’s helicopter to a landing zone at Koko Head District Park.
