A memorial service for Joanna Sullivan will be held Sunday, Oct. 4. The services for Sullivan, a philanthropist, community leader and widow of Foodland founder Maurice J. “Sully” Sullivan, will be held at ‘Iolani School. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the service will be held from 11 a.m. to noon.

All Foodland stores on Oahu will be closed from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 4 so that employees can attend.

A story in today’s Honolulu Star-Advertiser said the services and store closings would be tomorrow, Sept. 20.
