Hilo man died from medical condition, not Waikoloa crash
A 49-year-old Hilo man man died from a medical condition Thursday when the sedan he was driving ran off the right side of Waikoloa Road and rolled onto a small rock embankment.
An autopsy was conducted Monday on Robert J. Cooley of Hilo on Monday.
The medical examiner determined that Cooley died from a medical condition and not from the crash. The death will not be counted in the official county traffic fatality total.
