Inmate who failed to return from work furlough is captured
Police today arrested a work furlough inmate who had been missing for nearly two weeks, the Department of Public Safety announced.
Jerone Batalona, who was serving time for second-degree robbery, was arrested and returned this afternoon to the Oahu Community Correctional Center.
Batalona was on a work furlough pass, but failed to return to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center on Sept. 15.
He had left on a job-seeking pass and was supposed to return by 5 p.m.
Batalona faces a second-degree escape charge. His next parole hearing was scheduled for March.
He was classified as a community custody, the lowest custody level.
