After four days of searching, the Hawaii Fire Department Wednesday ended its efforts to find a 51-year-old fisherman, who was swept off a cliff by high surf in the area of Kaloli Point Saturday.

The Fire Department said the man was last seen at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, floating 50 yards offshore.

The Fire Department’s Rescue Company 2, using ground teams, searched along the shoreline. The department’s helicopter searched eight miles north and south, and a mile offshore of the man’s last known position.

Rescue Boat 2 conducted a shoreline search, and scuba divers used an expanded search pattern to look for the missing fisherman with negative findings, the Fire Department said.
