Waianae brush fire destroys nearly 4 acres

Nearly four acres of brush were destroyed by a fire Tuesday behind Leihoku Elementary School in Waianae.

No injures were reported. No structures were involved and no homes had to be evacuated, fire officials said.

The fire was reported at 4:32 p.m. and was contained just before 7 p.m.

No roads had to be closed.

Twelve fire companies with 30 firefighters were used to extinguish the brush fire.
