Medical examiner identifies Makaha man who apparently drowned

The Medical Examiner’s office has identified the man who died Tuesday after he was taken to the hospital by paramedics in critical condition from Makaha Beach. The 47-year-old Makaha man was Jeffrey Walthall.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine cause of death.

Walthall was found unresponsive in waters off Makaha Beach at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
